How to boost testosterone. Can you boost this essential hormone by things like nutrition, training, etc?

If You Don't Have Enough; Health Will Suffer And You are Wasting Your Time In the Gym!

As hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has become much more common place, and there is a growing understanding that keeping men in the "healthy" range for testosterone (T) has various benefits, I wanted to briefly address the issue. For those who need a refresher on the basics of blood work, see my article "It's In Your Blood"

To review the general issues of low T in men, according to one recent review by a Dr. Shabsigh and colleagues:

"Hypogonadism (low testosterone) is associated with central obesity; insulin resistance; low levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL); high cholesterol levels; and high levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL), triglycerides, fibrinogen, and plasminogen activator-1. Some observational studies show a correlation between low testosterone and cardiovascular disease (CVD), and others show no correlation. Interventional studies do not reveal a direct long-term relation between testosterone therapy and CVD. Short-term data suggest cardiovascular benefits of testosterone."

  1. Hey Will, I’m 21 and looking to maximize my testosterone output as I am
interested in becoming a professional athlete. I don’t want to screw up
anything in my body permanently so I am only looking for natural boosters.
I do hours of research a day and I am just curious as to what YOUR opinion
is on: – d-aspartic acid – Deer antler velvet – fenugreek – effectiveness
of broccoli, cabbage, etc as natural “anti-estrogen/aromatase” as opposed
to synthetic compounds found at the supplement shop

  2. Dozens upon dozens of societal changes contribute to this slight, average
decline. A few POSSIBILITIES: Peoples’ overall exercise has drastically
reduced. More cars, buses escalators etc A lot of people have jobs that
require them to be sedentary. A few generations back, you’d find that a
huge chunk of people were full time/part time farmers. Arguably..
healthier, less contaminated foods were consumed more frequently. Keep your
cell phone away from your balls. People on average get less sun.

  3. I’m sure an updated look at this topic would be welcome. You should go into
depth about Supplements such as Tribulus Terrestris,Resveratrol,DHEA
etc. There’s so much crap out there from companies trying to sell these
products as effective T boosters. Are they? or more likely a waste of money.
And what about what works in Men,and what works in Women?

  4. I cover some of them (such as DHEA and DHEA for women) in other vids on my
YT page here, and or on my site you’ll find if you look arounf. I cover
just about every supposed “T booster” on the market in the Body Building
Revealed Program or Sports Supplement Bible book also if you want to know
what works, what does not, and what’s a total waste of money.

  5. NEWS: We all have LOW-T! Check the documentary “The Disapearing Male” for
an explanation on the Estrogen war on males!

  6. Hello Brink! There are people saying that intermittent fasting can raise
GH, because that’s the body’s mechanism to avoid losing muscle, do you have
    any info about that? Thanks!

  7. Using artificial means to raise testosterone levels will make your body
dependent. Stop using those artificial means and you’ll be worse off than
    before.

  8. Hey Will how would you explain professional boxers and all the training
they do? I’m sure the majority don’t have low testosterone yet they all
overtain and have controlled diets to keep weight at a minimum.

  9. The body needs cholesterol to produce tertosterone .So eat food rich in
    cholesterol: Egg yolk……

  10. The only thing that will boost testosterone to significantly build muscle
and change your sexual libido, feel more energetic, will be the real
    inject-able Testosterone. Period…….

  11. Will, please wear a mic for your vids. It is hard to hear you clearly. If
its worth saying then take the time to do it right, Thanks.

  12. All the studies I’ve read say cardio and HIIT training significantly help
increase natural testosterone and keep Tlevels up. But I don’t take advice
from a guy who only lifts his coffee mug.

    1. +michael lage Feel free to supply the studies that show “cardio and HIIT
training significantly help increase natural testosterone” as you’re so
well read up on the topic.

    1. +michael lage As expected, you link to an article vs legit primary journal
source, which suggests you don’t know the difference. Guess who has a page
on BB.com dedicated to his articles? That would be me.

The article has some links to studies, but the fact is, short term spikes
in T and other hormones don’t impact body comp. I cover that in my article
      on T boosters.

You said ” cardio and HIIT training significantly help increase natural
      testosterone”

The very article you posted says “When you perform conventional cardio for
long periods of time, it’s been found to deteriorate muscle tissue and
      decrease testosterone levels.”

      Derp…

I said nothing about HIIT in the vid, but HIIT can be found in other vids,
etc, etc and has it’s uses to be sure, but can also lead to OTS and injury
quickly, neither of which is good for T levels long term.

You obviously have no sci/med background and would do yourself a favor by
not pretending you have a clue on this topic.

      Good luck!
